Wedding Crusies: How Good Are They? by: Robert Michael

Have you and your fiancee gave any thought to marry on a cruise?

It can, and does, happen. In fact, one of the lines of Princess ships, the Grand Princess (and the people that brought you the Love Boat) even has a wedding chapel.

Most cruises, however, as they offer a May wedding cruise actually perform the ceremony on earth. May you marry at the port from which you leave or port of call en route.

Your cruise wedding can cost anywhere from a low of $ 300 to $ 75 for each customer participating. The budget of $ 300 provides for the marriage ceremony itself, the services of a notary, witnesses to the event, as well as cakes and champagne. The upper end of the range includes a large buffet and open bar for your guests and yourself and spouse.

Once you book a cruise wedding will be assigned a ship wedding consultant who will help you with all arrangements. As part of your wedding package, you'll be able to choose flowers and wedding music. You'll also have your own choice of the photographer.

Wedding cruises are very popular. To reserve yours, you'll need to give your travel agent and the cruise of your choice at least one year's notice, and 18 months would be preferable.

One thing you must be aware is to take part in board your marriage requires being issued a marriage certificate from the port of the vessel online. If married aboard the Grand Princess, for example, your marriage will be allowed from Liberia. Make sure your home state accepts this as a valid certificate.

There are so many cruise lines from which to choose - the most important being the Princess lines above, the Carnival cruise ships, Windjammer Barefoot Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean.

Carnival Cruise Lines, for example, offers two types of packages for your dream wedding. You can choose a board of marriage, either small or up to 100 people in the area of your choice from a wide range of luxury lounges ship. In addition to the ceremony, this package includes boutonniere for the groom, bridal bouquet, wedding cake cutting and Topper, champagne toast, wedding March, sparkling wine served in beautiful souvenir champagne flutes, and photographer. These packages are $ 750 and up. You can also add an open bar and reception with hors d'oeuvres and a sumptuous lunch sit beautifully for you and your guests. The ports of call, you can choose for your wedding ceremony including Montego Bay, Tampa, Vancouver, Catalina, Grand Cayman, San Juan and several other beautiful romantic.

A Carnival of the island destination wedding, however, includes transportation to and from the wedding site of your choice - fantastic exotic places like Barbados, Montego Bay, Cozumel, San Juan, the island of St. Thomas and Nassau. These romantic island wedding start at just under $ 1,000.
